Loved this conversation so much. I'm also a documentarian and also turning "the camera" on myself in a new project (except it's a play instead of a film). I can relate to focusing hard on the admin parts, the lists, the fundraising, etc--- and how it's easy to put off working on the creative part of the story when there's so much to do to get it made. LOVED how Rachel is asking how she can give herself what she needs so she is able to give the verite gold -- the raw, unfiltered, real parts of herself to HERSELF-- I too am asking myself how I'll do that when it comes to show time.
This interview was delightful. All of it. The idea of loving the thing the most that scares you is so intensely familiar.
Omg hi and thinking of you in your grandmas rabbit

Loved this, and I can’t wait to see what Rachel’s project turns into. The mysteries of our own families are the most compelling
